Your first ride experience; memories, feelings.
My first ride with only my booty on the seat was a blast. A friend of mine has a little 2stroke 80cc Yamaha dirt bike that his brother learned on when they were growing up. He let me take it to a dirt lot close to home and I bopped around over the prairie dog mounds.
I tend to be cautious until I develop technical skills, so it was great starting on such a tiny bike, since I could just stand up when it got weird.
Who has supported your passion so far?
Like a lot of babes, blame it on your boyfriend.
My boyfriend (recently husband) has surprised me with 2 bikes. I appreciate that he believed I was capable and confident enough to have my own wheels. So he was certainly the catalyst to all of this.
Since then, I have felt positivity from most everyone, even outside the moto community.
What do you ride? Details.
First bike, CRF 250L. It’s a dualsport, which has been perfect for exploring Colorado. When my husband got it for me he got a lowering link put on, and then we followed up with a slimmer seat to get it as low as possible (still on my tippy toes).
I haven’t done much customizing to it, just new mirrors, turn signals, grips, hand guards, shift lever, and the seat. Most of what has been replaced is what I broke and bent in Moab! The bike has been a great first bike, it’s manageable and best of all she enjoys the dirt like myself.
I also have a 73’ Suzuki TC120 waiting for me in the garage. I plan to rewire it from a 6volt to a 12volt system. I can’t wait to cruise on that little lady.
Where do you usually ride and with whom?
Ninety percent of the time I’m riding with my husband, through the city or in the mountains. Big fan.
A place or a road you love to enjoy two wheels.
There are so many beautiful places in Colorado. I’m interested in exploring new areas and terrain, but recently have enjoyed the Poudre Valley.
What are your passions in addition to motorcycles?
A Moto adventure you’ll never forget.
Moab, Utah with The Scarlett Headers. A lot of riding first’s for me, including crashing. It was sick and I’m thankful for the trip.
Alexis, what is for you a MOTORCYCLE?
