Barbara helps you to visualize your beautiful Motorcycle Project before you start to build it.
Where are you based and who’s behind the project?
I am a French designer based in Paris, my name is Benoit and i am the founder of BARBARA.
When the idea of Barbarba Custom Motorcycles was born and why?
The idea came two or three years ago, but became a reality last year when i start to work on my motorcycle.
It becames clear after many talks with the guys of the garage where my bike was modified, that talking around pics was more easy than talking in the air!
It is easier to show a color than to talk about it. Well it’s the same approch when you want to buy a house on a design plan. You buy your house on images. People feel more comfortable with that.
Barbara helps the customers to visualise the Motorcycle before it is built, right?
People call me and ask me for a design of their bike, before starting to work on it in a garage.
This process save time and money. They know what they want but they can’t imagine it.
So i design the look they have in mind and this is great.
When i work with professional motorcycle garage, Ilisten carefully the technicals informations they give me, very specific skills that I don’t have. And this is really important to be precise.
With Photoshop you can do what you want, not on the road!
Please explain what are the steps for the realization of a visual project.
In general, people call me because they have an old bike or they bought a new one but they want to change things on it; the color for example, it tooks hours to change a color on a bike in real life but much less on photoshop, and the reverse process is fast. So they call me.
I can do modification of the frame, parts, accessories, color, logos, pattern, etc.
The motorcycle is cleaned on Photoshop of any imperfection, aging mark, scratchs, bumps, put in right perspective, and reconstruct some part if needed, precise outline cut and put on white background, application of the chosen colors, pattern, logos, lines..etc.
Then re-calibration of the colors and the light, before the creation of the final flat visual.
Once agreed upon the price, you can send me at b[email protected], an image, or a document (word, or pdf, or jpeg..) a side picture of you bike, you add some captures of colors, logo, pattern, etc that you want to put on it.
You can send me some example of things you like on other bike, shapes, modifications, the more precise you will be on this document, the more accurate the final render will be.
Then if everything is ok i start the work.
Finally I send you the design and corrections if needed we will do them later.
The first project realized, feelings.
It was for me, a very clumsy work, i try to forget.
The second one was more interesting, it was for a french garage that i really like, the designer made a little GN125 serie and ask me to work on it. I liked it.
What are the most frequent requests?
Most of time people know mainly what they are looking for. Change color of the tank, change the exhaust,or change the bike’s soul, bratstyle, bobber, cafe racer..
Any eccentric, uncommon request?
I don’t had one yet. Maybe myself with my photoshop?
I have just finished a work for a private in the South of France.
The owner asked me a big work on his brand new Thruxton 1200R which is going to be modified by the Triumph garage where he bought it.
Yes, many things, but i can’t tell much more at this time.
