Brin, please introduce you. Where are you based, what about your artistic background?
I’m based in Venice Beach, California.
First approach with Photography; feelings, emotions:
I try to submerse myself in the environment and let that show naturally through my photos. I really want to put the viewer in my shoes and give them the feeling of being there.
I use different cameras for different things. I prefer my Hasselblad 503cw, Canon ae-1 and Canon digital.
Black and White or Colors:
Both but i still love the darkroom and really love black and white.
Sources of Inspiration:
Most inspiring place for your work:
I love being anywhere away from phony people and phony situations. (usually out of the city).
The Motorcycle as an artistic Muse, more about this subject:
I bought my first bike in 2002 as a means of quick transportation for a shitty commute. I still have the same bike today. Since then i’ve rebuilt the motor and completely modified the look and feel of the bike. It made me appreciate the lines and stance of different bikes. Now I get most of my enjoyment photographing motorcycles because of the places i get to go and the rides and get to be on. I do a lot of shooting from my own bike while riding with friends. it’s great.
Are you a biker? What’s your relation with Two Wheels in everyday life?
I have 87,000 miles on the first and only bike i’ve ever owned. it’s a bored out 2002 bonneville america. it’s my daily driver and I usually do a couple big rides a year, usually solo or with my girlfriend Jasmine on the back. We camp every night and usually start the day with no specific destination.
It’s always about finding the best roads with no cars. The ride itself becomes the destination.
What about your local Moto scene?
I’m not too involved in any kind of moto scene. There’s lot’s of stuff going on around me but i usually prefer to just do my own thing.
Current work projects and collabs:
I do lot’s of motorcycle work with my good friends at British Customs. I’ve also recently done some work with Meta magazine and Men’s File magazine.
Any photographic project you dream to realize?
I have a couple book ideas i’ve been wanting to complete for a while.
